Sixth Form Application Form 2025-2026
Sixth Form Educational Bursary Fund
Dear prospective Sixth Form students
St Gregory’s Catholic Sixth Form is a successful and vibrant community (graded outstanding by Ofsted in March 2019) and currently has almost 250 students. The majority of our Year 11 students who have completed their GCSE’s chose to return to our Sixth Form, as they know they will be provided with first class teaching, guidance and support. We also admit a number of external students who would like the opportunity of studying in a Catholic Sixth Form where they know they will be stretched and challenged academically.
In October 2022 the Times newspaper ranked our Sixth Form in the top 25 non-comprehensive Sixth Form's in the entire country based on our results at KS5.
St Gregory’s Sixth Form has a long established academic reputation. The curriculum in the Sixth Form is designed to meet the needs of all our students. We offer a wide variety of A level subjects and Vocational courses. We continue to achieve outstanding results.
St Gregory’s has high expectations of all our Sixth Form students in terms of their commitment to their academic studies and their involvement and participation in a range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
Almost all our students progress to university and in recent years our students have secured places at some of the most prestigious universities in the country. In August 2023, two of our students secured places at Cambridge University where they will study Law and Medicine. In addition to this, in recent years our students have secured places at other prestigious universities, including Oxford, Imperial, Leicester, LSE, Warwick and Bristol, where they have studied a variety of subjects such as Medicine, Economics, Law and Mathematics.
We are delighted with the results achieved by our 6th form students this academic year. The breakdown of our results is outlined below.
2023 A-level results
33% of all grades are A*-A (6% above national)
72% of grades are A*-B (19% above national)
95% of grades are A*- C (20% above national)
Yours sincerely
Mr N Dannie
