Joining the Sixth Form
Dear prospective Sixth Form Students,
St Gregory’s Catholic Sixth Form is a successful and vibrant community. It consists of over two hundred students who have chosen to study their post 16 courses with us. The majority of our year 11 students who have completed their GCSE’s chose to return to our Sixth form, as they know they will be provided with first class teaching, guidance and support. We also admit a number of external students who would like the opportunity of studying in a Catholic Sixth form where they know they will be stretched and challenged academically.
St Gregory’s Sixth form has a long established academic reputation. The Curriculum in the Sixth form is designed to meet the needs of all our students. We offer 20 A level subjects and 5 Vocational courses. We continue to achieve outstanding Sixth form results and this year St Gregory’s achieved an ALPS grade 2 value added score which places St Gregory’s amongst the 10 % of best schools and colleges in the country.
St Gregory’s has high expectations of all our Sixth form students in terms of their commitment to their academic studies and their involvement and participation in a range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
Almost all our students progress to university. This year 98% of our students will attend Universities this autumn and start degree courses in a variety of different subjects from Law, Mechanical Engineering, Maths and Biomedical Sciences to Business, Sociology and Politics.
