Suspensions

The school follows the Department for Education statutory suspension and permanent exclusion guidance (please see the link below).  Suspension from school is a decision taken with great reluctance and only when ALL other channels have been explored.  In very exceptional cases it can be the only sanction.  When suspending a child the school is always mindful that “Everyone in our school is made in the image and likeness of God.”

Consequently each case is dealt with on an individual basis and due consideration given to the circumstances. Parents, senior members of staff, the Local Authority, the SENCO, SENAS, EWS, Social Care, our Learning Mentor and various Local Authority and other outside agencies may be involved.
