Year 9 Student

As a Year 9 student, I believe that St. Gregory's Catholic Science College is an excellent school that provides a welcoming community and excellent educational opportunities to its students. The teachers push us to fulfil our potential in school, providing a safe and supportive community for us students. Our motto is Pro Deo which is Latin ‘For God, The best and the Greatest.’  This motto further shows our school’s commitment to pushing its students to their full potential. I look forward to the rest of this year and to being able to choose my options for GCSEs.

Being a part of the school community has made me feel very special and seen. I recommend coming to this school because you will be able to gain the confidence to use your voice for what you believe in and you will also be able to experience some great opportunities.

We are also an eco-school school that has recently been recognised for its outstanding work by achieving the Eco Schools green flag award for the fourth consecutive time. The work that is done by the eco committee teaches students and staff how to be eco-friendly and we also have an eco-garden where we harvest and grow fruits and vegetables which are used in school.

St Gregory’s has a track record for producing successful young men and women. This can be seen in our exam results at both GCSE and A-Level with two students now studying at Cambridge.

As well as this, we also have incredible sporting facilities including two gym halls, an astroturf and a table tennis area. The extracurricular activities offered by the school allow students to explore their interests and develop new skills. Spending time in this welcoming community helps change the way that you view the world and I have been able to make friendships and memories to last a lifetime. Attending St Gregory’s Catholic Science College is no doubt one of the best choices that I have made and I look forward to the rest of this year and to being able to choose my options for GCSEs.
